Congratulations to the winners! We’ve sent emails to everyone who won a prize, please check your emails. And thank you to everyone who participated!!
The big day is nearly upon us! I’ve mentioned a few times that we have some great giveaways to help in the celebration.
There are three steps to be entered to win a giveaway:
- Take a look at this post and choose how you’ll celebrate.
- C E L E B R A T E ! ! !
- Leave a comment here or on the “Happy Great Glasses Play Day!” post that will go up on August 5, 2012. In that comment, tell us how you celebrated the day. Since some events will be going on through the week, and we know that sometimes, you have to celebrate when it works for your family, we’ll be accepting entries until noon (Minneapolis time) on Sunday, August 12.
. . . And that’s it! On August 12, 2012, we’ll use random.org to draw names from everyone that celebrated.
So, the prizes include:
Great Glasses Play Day t-shirts, in the size and color of your choosing, and water bottles!
Your choice of one of the Little Four Eyes “Everyone can rock glasses” t-shirts in the size and color of your choosing! From Little Four Eyes.
Copies of “Princesses Wear Glasses” - your choice of either a download of the story customized with your child’s name and coloring, or the original book and dress up kit. From Peeps Eyewear.

We are celebrating but not today due to her brothers going back to school tomorrow and church…. tomorrow we will celebrate by spending the day having fun and maybe the park… there arent many kids her age in glasses here so we will be celebrating alone and being as she has strabismus surgery the 14th we may just celebrate all week!!!! just so that she knows even if she wears glasses, even if she patches, and even if her eye has a turn she is still a very amazing little girl and I am so very lucky I am her mom!!!
My boys wore their GREAT sunglasses to protect their eyes when they PLAYED together on Sunday
Love it, Angie! Thank you!
We celebrated with a great day at the park. I also plan to blog about my little guy and his time in glasses but that will be tonight after his eye appointment this afternoon
Thanks for fun ideas to celebrate our littles ones in glasses!

We did a special family celebration at the park with 4 generations of glass wearers. We had glasses themed snacks, cupcakes with licorice glasses. Then when it was time for my kiddos to wear their eye patches everyone joined in and turned it into a pirate playday
That’s awesome, Nicole!
We celebrated by reading our copy of Princess Peepers! We had hoped to organize the Pittsburgh play day this year but vacation overlapped. Next year we will plan BIG THINGS to get the Pittsburgh Little Four Eyes crew together!
We’re celebrating by promoting books on vision/ patching / glasses at our primary school library. We’ll be reading “Arlo wears glasses” to a preschool class (ages 3-5years). We’ll be experimenting with a magnifying glass to see how it makes things look bigger and decorating some crafty glasses. Its really cold in Sydney Australia at the moment, and everyone seems to be fighting off sickness, so we’ve postoned our great glasses playday until September, when Spring will be in the air & hopefully the sun will be shining. We’re having a Great Glasses Play Day at the beach, with (hopefully) loads of local children. My kids & I can’t wait!
Thanks for thinking of the idea – its BRILLIANT!
Cheers, Imbi
We celebrated at the GGPD at Smith Playground in Philly. It was HOT but we loved seeing old friends and making new friends with glasses. Looking forward to future events! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsdPg6i52u4&list=HL1344775612&feature=mh_lolz
